Digital Plant

Virtual Reality Summit - December 5 - 7, 2011

For the complete schedule of VR Summit for Energy and DIGITAL PLANT 2011 Conference Sessions and Speakers, please view the Full Conference Program!

The Virtual Reality (VR) Summit provides practical global solutions built on real world strategies for the Energy Industry's Digital Plant covering the entire plant lifecycle as well as an introductory overview of 3-D immersive simulated environments. Sophisticated simulations and complex data presented through immersive VR-based technologies enable developing insight and assist in knowledge capture and transfer. The military has embraced these technologies in order to rehearse tasks prior to putting personnel in harm's way. Owner / Operators can improve workforce safety and training, as well as mitigate risk by replicating catastrophic incidents and conducting realistic emergency response scenarios. The ability to see data within a work process context utilizing real-time data access in a collaborative 3-D immersive environment will enhance problem solving resulting in improved return on investments by reducing turnaround time and operating expenses across the Oil & Gas, Power, Chemical and Process Industries. Employing VR-based technologies solutions O/Os and EPCs can work more closely on project design, construction and operations throughout the Asset Lifecycle.
